Looking at the miniature room settings and furniture of Vancouver-based artist, Peter Tucker, you would be forgiven for thinking they are the real thing.
So realistic are they that people have been known to place orders on Peter’s website thinking they are purchasing full-sized items.
His miniature creations are mainly in a modern or art deco style and include replicas of famous modern furniture created by the likes of Corbusier.
They are full of amazing detail, from the paintings hanging on the walls to the fully working lights, and have to be seen to be believed.
Peter began making what he calls roomboxes back in the 1990s after becoming disillusioned with his consulting business involving database and system design.
His job then involved a lot of travelling away from home, as well as working on projects that would often never see the light of day.
What he wanted was to do something creative and to spend more time with his family. His solution was making the incredibly detailed and remarkably life-like miniatures you can see today.
It’s amazing to think that Peter only had minimal experience of making miniatures before taking it up full time but then not everyone has his obvious ability or artistry in producing such beautiful creations.
